Using economic models to imitate government data results in moderation. Facts are messy while models are smooth. The void has also been filled with previously less public alternative data and analytics.
Upon the return of government data, a new world begins. There’ll be a recalibration to government statistical releases, and more confidence in an expanding universe of alternative data and AI-powered analytics. When the shutdown ends, expect volatility to rise.
