12-16-2024 US Reform Spirits are "Riders on the Storm"
-----------------------
Riders on the Storm, Riders on the Storm.
On Friday, political uncertainty in France, Germany, and South Korea became too much for Treasuries to ignore. Then came talk of significantly reducing bank regulations.
The US reform spirit will weigh on rates since markets prefer regulatory definition and political predictability. Reform is coming, so expect wild moves. Domestic investors like the tame swings in mortgage yields compared to Treasuries. Hedgers capitalize on yield spread changes.
Like a bull without a hone. A trader out of loans. Riders on the Storm.
